Account Manager
Summary:
This position is located within a fast paced environment performing Account Manager Service assignments:
including soliciting and inputting orders, responding to customer inquiries and informing customers of potential service shortfalls with the ultimate goal of providing superior service and high profitability.
Job Functions
Solicit freight from customers on a call-list, email, or website.
Respond to customer requests for load status and equipment availability
Quote rates on non-contacted lanes
Receive load information from customers and enter it in AS400 system
Verify loads are booked to yield the highest productivity
Schedule freight in the most efficient highest revenue producing fashion
Some designated Territory Account Manager areas include regional planning duties
Create and maintain customer, shipper, and consignee profiles
Assist and ensure customer credit is established before moving a load
Inform customer of loads entering into possible detention status
Maintain daily communication with Regional Sales Representatives, advising them of freight to equipment ratio and designing a plan to deal with imbalances
Balance needs of the customer against needs of the driver
Managing pre-calls and appointments with the use of the Account Manager Support
Responsible for booking freight to get drivers home for scheduled time off
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum two years customer service experience
Required Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
