Substance Use Disorder Counselor Programs:
Border Re-entry and Community Integration Program:
Healthy Border Initiative Project Duties:
Counselor will provide evidence-based outpatient treatment services to adult individuals with substance use or co-ocurring disorders.
Counselor will work half of their time with the Border Re-entry Program and the other half with the Healthy Border Initiative Project.
Counselor will be responsible for screenings and assessments, individual and group counseling sessions, documentation of client progress and participation, treatment planning, case management and discharge planning.
Counselor will be working directly with adult individuals in pre-treatment while incarcerated as well as with adults returning to their community following incarceration as part of the ORP Program.
Counselor will also be working with individuals at risk for contracting HIV/ Viral Hepatitis who also have a substance use disorder and/ or co-ocurring disorder as part of the HBI Program.
SCAN has more than 40 years of experience in behavioral health and is committed to the highest quality standards in treatment services.
New counselors receive training on various evidence-based practices and cutting-edge competencies in culturally responsive, integrated mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
As part of the clinical treatment team, the counselor will receive ongoing supervision, training and consultation in the delivery of services within a strength-based supportive environment.
If LPC-A, SCAN provides free supervision and offers all program counselors opportunity to expand and grow within the agency's multiple comprehensive programs.
If LCDC-I, SCAN is an HHSC approved Clinical Training Institute site able to provide Supervised Work Experience hours to Counselor Interns and supports professional development.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences.
Master's degree preferred.
Must be an LCDC or be registered with the TX DSHS as an LCDC-Intern, or have an LPC, or LPC-A Bilingual:
English and Spanish Good computer skills Valid TX driver's license, good driving record and reliable transportation.
