Laredo West and Laredo South Nursing and Rehabiliation Center.
The Director of Rehab will serve as an advisor, trainer, educator and auditor, assisting and supporting the therapy team.
The Director of Rehab is responsible for organizing and overseeing the general operations and reviewing its operational systems, the maintenance of records, and personnel to promote the adequate level of care to facility residents.
The Director of Rehab ensures that the therapy team complies with the facility's policies and procedures.
The Director of Rehab shall know the policies and procedures of the facility and be prepared to make recommendations to the Administrator, the Director of Nursing, and appropriate facility staff.
They will participate in the Forms Committee and Policy & Procedure Committee.
They will assist in creating, revising, updating, and implementing any policies and procedures or forms when appropriate.
Promote communication within the facility in an interdisciplinary manner.
Must meet with the Administrator upon entrance to the facility to communicate the purpose of each visit.
Will communicate with the Administrator and therapy team any pertinent findings of their visit throughout the day.
Must meet with the Administrator, therapy team or designee upon exiting of the facility to communicate any relevant findings.
Communicate with the Administrator and the therapy team after each visit to follow-up on any agreed Plan of Corrections.
Observe staff performance during direct care activities (i.
e.
, therapy sessions, ADLs, meal service, etc.
).
Review consultant reports to promote consistency in the application of rules and regulations.
Review any and all regulatory reports (i.
e.
2567, Quality Monitoring reports, Quality Indicators, etc.
).
Review policies and procedures adopted by the facility to promote regulatory compliance.
Review facility reports (i.
e.
, 24 hour nursing report, facility QA reports, staffing hours, etc.
).
Review resident clinical records.
Provide training to the therapy staff, Directors of Nursing, the Administrator and facility staff.
Research other training methods, materials and resources.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Knock before entering a resident's room.
Actively assist and participate in the enhancement of the lives of our residents through our dedicated approach to patient care and our census-building program.
Actively assist and participate in the development and retention of staff through recruitment, training and nurturing the employees of the nursing facility.
Licensing Requirements The Rehab Director must be either a PT, OT or SLP with active Texas state licensure.
