This role is anticipated to be based within 240 miles of the border with Mexico, however, the final site location has yet to be determined.
About the Position The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), and the Office of Refugee Resettlement's (ORR) Influx Care Facilities (ICF) care for 500 - 3,000 unaccompanied children (UC) crossing into the United States border, and you will grant these children with the highest practical level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being and quality of life.
The facility which operates under cooperative agreements and contracts, provides children with classroom education, health care, socialization, recreation, vocational training, mental and physical health services, access to legal services, access to Child Advocates (where applicable), and case management.
They also undertake ongoing efforts to identify and assess sponsors (relatives or other individuals) in the United States to whom the children can be safely released.
Key Responsibilities but not Limited to:
Create/follow a process for case management services with a focus on family reunification.
Provide culturally sensitive and age-appropriate case management services while maintaining records of case files and making regular reports to the ORR.
Conduct an initial intake assessment and create an individual service plan for the care of each child tracked in ORR's online case management system.
Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with the potential sponsor, gather sponsor information, and assess whether the potential sponsor is a suitable sponsor who can safely provide for the physical and mental well-being of the child or youth.
Create a Sponsor Care Plan in the event the sponsor is no longer able to care for the child.
Conduct Safety and Well Being Follow-up Calls, upon release of child to sponsors.
Coordinate with other stakeholders such as legal service providers, post-release /home study providers, child advocates, and U.
S.
Federal agencies.
Work with other Care Providers in the ICF to develop overall Safety Plans, Individual In-Care Safety Plans, Safety Planning for Off-Site Outings, recreation, and leisure time activities.
Provide weekly status updates to the UC on the child's case and provision of services.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields; plus, 1-year experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, or quality assurance or compliance.
Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Drive and compassion to aid vulnerable populations.
Proficiency with Social Services software applications and with common office equipment, as well as with MS Office suite.
Must be Bilingual - English & Spanish (written and oral).
Highly encourage to apply if you speak any Mayan dialect and/or other language.

Shift work hours may vary (Ability to work flexible hours and weekends) Must be willing to undergo a background check.
